Stolen cars recovered and 14 arrested in Pretoria

Five stolen vehicles were recovered and 14 people arrested for various crimes across Pretoria at the weekend.

Spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said the metro and national police were tipped off on Sunday about stolen vehicles at a property in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.

“Upon arrival at the address, police found four suspected stolen vehicles,” said Mahamba.

“They also found two pepper sprays and a metro police bulletproof vest.”

Mahamba said a 25-year-old man was found on the premises and was arrested for possession of suspected stolen vehicles.

Police impounded the car and the man would appear in court soon.

Another stolen vehicle was recovered at The Grove mall on the same day, after it had been reported stolen.

Metro police also arrested 13 people in Mamelodi, Pretoria West and Onderstepoort for dealing in and possession of drugs, possession of a stolen vehicle, cable theft and assault.
