Department spokesperson Oupa Bodibe said parents were advised to accept the schools learners were placed into.

“We are aware that schools in Pretoria North have no space and we will allocate learners to schools around the area where there is space,” said Bodibe.

“We urge parents to accept their placement.”

On Tuesday, the department said 18 000 more learners had been placed at schools in the province, reducing the total number of unplaced learners to 40 000.
