Doornpoort residents were left confused by a police operation which took place on Tuesday morning.

This was after residents saw a group of officers wearing their bullet-proof vests and carrying R5 rifles.

“It’s standard procedure for officers to be armed during an operation,” Sinoville police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said.
