There is still no sign of a young man from Sinoville who went missing almost six months ago.
Gideon Jacobus Stephanus Engelbrecht (30) was last seen leaving his home at Pebble Rock golf estate.
He was apparently heading to eMalahleni in Mpumalanga.
Police said he was driving a white Toyota Fortuner, towing a Jurgens Penta caravan with the registration number FB 61 DS GP.
There was no waiting period when reporting a missing person, said Sinoville police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk.
“Immediately report the missing person to your nearest police station,” he said.
When filing a missing person’s report, the police require the person’s full names and ID number as well as a proper description of what the person looks like – a photo would help.
The missing person’s last known location would also help the police in their search.
“Give the police as much information as possible to help speed up the process of locating the missing person,” said Van Dyk.
“Be sure to mention distinctive features or possible skin defects, like scars, to help identify them.”
Van Dyk also warned against making false reports.
“Every missing person case is treated as urgent and immediate.
“The police spend a lot of time and resources investigating them – it is important that people do not waste our resources.”
