Matrics in the north of Pretoria seemed happy – and some even excited – about their final results.

“I’m relatively satisfied with my matric results,” said Werner Viljoen from Hoërskool Montana. He boasted with his friend André Schoeman who got five distinctions.

The school’s principal, Sakkie Jacobs, said he was especially proud of all the matrics and the top students who passed with a number of distinctions.

The school boasted of their top 10 students’ average of 86,8 percent.

Hoërskool Overkruin’s matrics were also overjoyed with their results.

One of the top students, Angelique van Rooyen, smiled from ear to ear as she held up her report having notched eight distinctions.

She and her friends said they were very happy with their results.

“We are really happy as we did better than expected,” said Deaan Roux.
