Fugitive nabbed for attempted murder in Mabopane

Suspect arrested after being on the run for a month.

After being on the run for weeks, a 30-year-old man was arrested by Mabopane police for attempted murder.

Police spokesperson, Captain Rheineth Motlana, said the man was arrested on Wednesday after being on the run since 25 September.

“The man was wanted for attempted murder after he shot a 33-year-old man in the left thigh in Mabopane unit D,” said Motlana.

“It is alleged that the victim confronted the suspect and requested him to hand back his property which he [suspect] took without the victim’s consent.”
