Murdered, mutilated young woman still unidentified

Police need your help to identify this murder victim.

Police are still battling to identify a young woman who was found murdered and her private parts removed in Mmakaunyane, north west of the city.

Police spokesperson Constable Thembi Nowathe said police are asking the public’s help in identifying the woman whose body was found in a dense bush last Thursday.

“We have checked various police stations around Tshwane to see if there are cases of missing people fitting her description, but without luck,” said Nowathe.

“Her naked body was discovered next to a graveyard, and her genitals were cut out. The body was found lying face down with her hands tied from behind with cable ties.”

“The age of the young woman is unknown, but it looks like she was between 17 and 21 years,” she said.

Nowathe said she was wearing a blue T-shirt with Arizona 66 printed on it.

“Her blue Carvela shoes were found near a stream. Anyone who can assist in identifying this person may contact the Dube police,” Nowathe said.

The gruesome find was the second of its kind in less than a month in the same area.

Recently, a man was arrested for allegedly murdering his father and cutting up his body.

Nowathe said the murder took place at the family’s home in Mmakaunyana near Winterveldt.

She said the 31-year-old allegedly shot and killed his father (56) before he dismembered him with a hacksaw and knife.

He then placed his father’s cut up body in plastic bags in the refrigerator.

The culprit’s younger sister and mother said they were outside when they heard a gunshot inside the house.

“The suspect stopped them from entering the house,” said Nowathe.

Nowathe said the son only opened the door when police arrived. His trousers were covered in blood and he told police the gun he used was inside a kitchen unit.

Nowathe said the man “did not look worried at all when police arrested him.”
