Water interruptions expected north of Pretoria

Parts of Pretoria maybe be without water on Thursday and Friday due to maintenance to water network systems.

Tshwane metro said in a statement that suburbs in region 2 of the city – north of Pretoria – were expected to be without water from 07:00 to 16:00.

The affected areas are:

– Parts of Wonderboom – including Wonderboom National Airport

– Annlin West extensions

– Annlin extensions

– Parts of Sinoville

“A water supply interruption will be avoided at all costs but may occur from time to time in these areas,” read the statement.

Further maintenance and upgrading are scheduled for Friday 21 April to the Temba Water Treatment Plant.

The plant will be shut down from 08:00 on Friday until 08:00 on Saturday.

The metro said this was necessary to upgrade connections at the raw water pump station, chlorine pump station and interconnecting pipework.

The following areas will be affected:

– Stinkwater

-Dilopye

– Eersterust

– Temba

– Babelegi Industries

“During this period, residents will be supplied with water by means of roaming water tankers,” read the statement posted to the Tshwane metro Facebook page.

“The metro apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from the scheduled service interruptions.”
