Pupils happy to receive shoes and socks donation

Zimasa Socikwa hands over a shoes and socks to a pupil.

Soshangaan Primary School pupils received donations of school shoes, socks, soap and bread on Monday.

Sam Moimane of ODI Water Services said the gesture was a partnership between ODI Water Services, Total garage Morula, Total garage Block S and Total garage Ga-Rankuwa.

He said doing good in the community was something that should be done throughout the year, not just on Mandela Day (18 July).

He said stakeholders acted on Nelson Mandela’s notion that each person had the power to change the world.

At the handover Moimane quoted Nelson Mandela who said: “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens. It is in your hands now.”

Stakeholders were urged to continue helping the community and a call was made to assist the home for the disabled in Mabopane Block X.

Other activities included fixing of toilet leaks, planting trees, painting and general cleaning.
