Refuse removal trucks were dumping waste on the R566, Rosslyn Road as part of a protest action on Friday morning.

Ward councillor Hannes Coetzee said the reason behind the strike was not yet clear.

“The strike was unexpected,” said Coetzee.

“I’ve informed the metro and the Tshwane mayor to urgently look into this matter.”

Video footage, captured by a motorist, shows the waste being dumped.
