More title deeds for Hammanskraal residents

Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga with some of the beneficiaries of RDP houses.

The metro is to hand over 705 new title deeds to Hammanskraal residents.

This was supposed to have happened this week but the ceremony had to be postponed, said mayoral spokesperson Samkelo Mgobozi.

The title deeds were ready to be signed and issued and the houses for the approved beneficiaries had been completed.

“The title deeds are for rightful beneficiaries who have been allocated low-cost houses or serviced stands in Hammanskraal West Extensions 1 and 2 in Ward 49,” said Mgobozi.

He said the handing over would be done at a date still to be confirmed, but not later than the end of next week.

Housing and human settlements MMC Mandla Nkomo, would lead the ceremonial handover of 15 title deeds, with the remainder being handed over by an administration team.

Nkomo would be joined by the chairperson of the oversight committee on housing and human settlements, Nkele Molapo.

He said the metro was committed to providing sustainable and integrated human settlements.

The objective was livable settlements with adequate access to economic opportunities, a mix of safe and secure housing, reliable and affordable basic services and social amenities.

At least 45 title deeds were recently handed to Winterveldt residents.
